About Haneen Art

HANEEN (longing) ART collection is inspired by Palestinian heritage. Adorned with spring, summer, and autumn colors– perhaps, such colors bring life and hope in its medley, the hope to return to our ancestral land.

Illustrations are pieced from colored fabrics, each with unique features and colors.

Dot painting on fabric was my first attempt at traditional Palestinian embroidery, as I thought it was easier and I wanted to be different.  Because of fabric absorption of paint, each dot was completed in stages,  following a 1-mm square pattern for the 3-D appearance.  

EMBROIDERY IS ROOTED IN PALESTINIAN TRADISION…

Traditional Palestinian embroidery patterns and appliqué techniques were combined to create these Haneen illustrations, each with its distinctive colors.  All illustrations are original, and no copies are made.
